What cat breeds love to sit on your lap and always be near you or on you and never leave yours sight?

I hate it when cats walk away from me and are independent.I want a cat who wants attention all the time and want to be around you almost all the time.It hurts my feeling when a cat walks away from me and leaves me.I want a cat who loves to be the center on intention and loves to sit in people lap and get petted.

Public Comments

1. Bombay cats. They're jet black with copper colored eyes.

2. Sounds like you really want a dog. Cats will always think you are the pet.

Try a Spoodle.

3. All breeds

4. Siamese cats are very affectionate mine gets kinda mad at me when i don't give her lover as soon as i get home but it all depends on the cat. none are for sure. make cats tend to be more clingy after they are fixed then female cats

5. Try a ragdool. Bigger cat.

Cats are more independent than dogs.

6. Usually the Personality on a cat varies from Cat to Cat and isn't breed specific.

If you want an interactive chatter box, there are some breeds that want to be involved in everything you do or carry on a conversation. The Siamese is known for being a chatterbox. The Japanese Bobtail is also talkative, but has some dog-like behavior since they use to have jobs.

Just remember if a Cat is obsessed with you, they will be prone to getting underfoot.. so make sure you don't step on them.

Added:
I should give a little background on both breeds. The Siamese had periods of time they were only owned by the wealthy and were trapped with people that didn't want to get their hands dirty so they sat around chatting with each other.

The Japanese Bobtail went through periods of time Royalty owned them and only the wealthy could own them. However, atleast twice in History they were not allowed to be confined to homes and worked as mousers. In exchange for bringing mice and some other pest ( some were used to collect insects) they were given food, water, shelter, and extra attention. So between things they thrieve on attention and some can pick up and mimic the languages of other creatures ( from what I've seen they can use bird sounds to attract birds that they then try to pounce). Fetch is pretty common. They also can walk on their hind legs for prolonged times. People feel like they are dealing with a Dog in a Cats body.

7. dont all cats go away from you???

8. Breeds don't matter. My cousins tried to get a kitty by breed for loveliness and stuff. it hates them and tried to slit their throats :) but cats are born with personalities like people. sometimes we forget this. sayign which breed of cat is sweeter is like saying black people are nicer than whites. so try to go to a place such as a cat shelter or an rspca or thing like that depending on what country you live in. my cat, shadow, is an ass face :P my sweet little angel is a dsh tabby and white. he loves to be around me. we take excellent care of him. he is an inside cat who has been trained on a harness so we take him on walks with us. he loves to be dressed up in clothes. he loves to sleep in my bed (and take all the space) I got him at the rspca. you get to go in with the animals and see which one falls inlove with you. we love each other very much. lov3 xoxo <3 RiiRii<3 oxox Lov3

9. I have a silver point siamese, and he follows me to the bathroom, sleeps in my bed, sits on the arm of my chair, tries to sit on the key board of my computer, constantly purrs, and tries to get in front of the book I am reading. Is this affectionate enough? I will say that his behavior has changed quite a bit now though. I brought another cat into the house and my silver point is not happy. He is so jealous that he won't even come to me right now. I think he feels as if I betrayed him. What? The other cat was homeless and hungry what was I supposed to do?

10. Ragdoll cats! I have a ragdoll myself. They're an expensive breed to buy, but totally worth it! My ragdoll, Jaycee, never leaves me alone! She follows me all around, sits in my lap when I'm doing homework and sleeps on my chest when I go to bed. She even meows at the door while I'm in the shower or toilet. And best of all, her claws don't go out or retract, they stay the same and so when she plays she doesn't scratch often! Ragdolls are called ragdolls because when you pick them up they don't stretch their legs out or struggle much when you pick them up. They're so affectionate! But they HAVE to stay inside; they wouldn't do well in a fight.

11. I find russian blue's are very loyal and love being near their owner. Mine is sleeping on me as I'm answering this. : )

12. i agree with what some of the other posters said about cats affection not being breed specific. Thats what I love about cats...they are so indepenent. I absolutely love Persian, Himalyan & Siamese cats. (Himalyans are a mix of persian and Siamese). Persians are every so sweet, curious, playful and endearing normally, while Siamese tend to be curious little stinkers! Himalyans are a combination. I have a Persian and a Himalyan and my Persian is a mamas boy he is always watching me and always by my side. He likes very few people except me and if i am away and someone else is sitting for him, he will hide under the bed till I come home. He loves it when I drape him over my shoulder like a baby and pat him, even though he is about 18lbs. He sprawls out on my bed and sighs when I play music for him and merows when I talk to him. Me Himalyan talks loudly to me and tells me when he doesn't like something. He is very playful and friendly to anyone who comes to visit. If I open a cupboard door or any door for that matter he has to jump into it...he doesn't care where it leads. Neither of them are lap cats really...but they will lay on me when the wish and purr loudly. I chase them down if I want to and pet them and they know they love it, even if they pretend they dont...but come on...they are cats!!!! My mom has a cat that will sit on your lap as long as you want her to...my sister's roommate abused her as a kitten I think...lol

13. I agree with everything each poster has said. Although I have owned cats for well over 20 years and they have all been domestic short hair breeds and the best cat I think I have ever owned is my domestic tabby-her coloring is described as tortoise shell and she is so onery and lovable. She craves constant attention. I don't know if thats normal with this specific type of cat or if we lucked out but she is so lovable!
