Cat Breeds?

Cat Breeds that HAVE FUR.. but don't shed as much?
anyone have a russian blue cat?? Do those shed somewhat little?

Public Comments

1. Any short haired cat, it depends what color/pattern you prefer... My cat doesnt shed much... its not a pure bred though. just make sure its a short haired cat, not a long one like a persian

2. Except for the Sphynx breeds and Peterbald (all hairless cats), all cats shed. You might want a cat without undercoat, like a Siamese, shorthaired Oriental, Burmese, or Tonkinese. Or, you may want a cat that has undercoat and no guard hairs or awn coat like a Cornish Rex or Devon Rex. These may shed enough less to be more tolerable to you.

Hopes this helps!

Russian blues are somewhat shedders, but not as much as most cats, best answer pls!

3. when I was little, my friend had a siamese that barely shed at all...

4. THE REX CATS HAVE CURLY FUR AND THIS DOESN'T SHED AS MUCH AS NORMAL STRAIGHT HAIRED CATS..

shorthaired rexs.. devon rex .. cornish rex.

or the long haired variety..
selkirk rex
or artic curl.

5. The cat that sheds the least will be the one that's groomed the most. So get a cat of any breed - or no particular breed - and groom it regularly. Shorthaired cats should be brushed at least once a week with a slicker brush or Zoom Groom. Longhaired cats shouldn't be brushed - they should be combed - and at least every other day to prevent matting.
