Cat adoption... advice please...?
A stray cat had 5 kittens at our house back in March. I've grown really close to all of them and they really seem like normal pets to me. I love them all very very very much and spend lots of time with them every day. One of the kittens has a couple of people interested in adopting her...
The 5 cats and there mother have never spent a day without each other, and for the past 7 months, me without them. I cannot bear the thought of one of "my" cats leaving, but I know we can't keep taking care of so many growing cats... then again, we have been for 7 months.
How can I make this easier for myself? I am going to miss her so much... but none of the adoption stuff is final yet.
Help?
The mother cat and all of her kittens are spayed/neutered, so no problems there.

1. look you know you can't have that many and its a questin of whom is adoptiing the one. you know its going to good home and that should make you happy instead of sad. i hope you are fixing the mama cat so she can't have babies again. its hard on them to have too many litters.
2. I've been there. i have rescued and given for adoption more than a 100 kittens. You would think that every time it gets easier, well it doesn't. One think that will make thing easier for you is to make sure that the kittens go to a good family, that they have the possibilities, the responsibility and the sources for such a long commitment. Trust me, the kittens will be fine going to their new homes at this age. Cats are amazing creatures and adapt pretty soon to their new homes. Don't feel bad, on the contrary, feel good that you have done such a great job and that now you found such a good home for at least one of them.
3. I wish I could make it easy but I can't. Just know that you helped them and without you they would not be doing as good as they are. They deserve a home of their own and you have to try and start thinking along those lines.
Just be sure and give your phone number or e-mail to the person so they keep you updated on any kitties who get a new home. That will help a little.
Hang in there and Good Luck to you and the kitties.
4. Just keep them if you feel like so they stay together or take one andset the rest for adopition
