looking to give my persian cat up for adoption cannot find any rescue or agency in my area brevard cty florida
i live in merritt island and would like to fine someone who would like to adopt my sweet and lovable 9yr.old persian cat.I was recently operated and cannot care for him. His name is cocoa.

1. One thing you can do is register the cat as adoptable on Catster.com, giving lots of photos. Catster is like MySpace, but for cats... most people even roll play as if they are their cats LOLOnce you're registered and have lots of info/pics on his page, go into the forums there and post about his availability.
Just one of many ways to get the word out.
2. have you ever heard of craigslist? if not......go to google and type in craigslist..........then your city. post an ad there. i bought a wonderful Himalayan there! good luck!

They are in northern Florida but they should be able to put you in contact with someone in your area that can help you under your circumstances. Don't be afraid to contact rescues out of your area - many will try to help you anyway, especially since you have a difficult situation. Many operate as a network of organizations.
4. Try petfinder.com They have a new posting area for people trying to rehome pets. It may be hard to find a 9 yr old a home, even if he is a persian.
