1. there isn't the best cat and the worst cat! It is how you raise them up! You can take a stray cat and raise it like you raised your previous cat! I am sure the results will be the exact same! ;)
2. I'm not an expert but I do know norwegian forest cats are great. I have one and he's amazing! They do like to climb and are social good luck (:
3. Hi Morgan Phillips! I am so sorry to hear that. At least your cat is not suffering. Right? We all have trouble coping with loses. I hope you can get a cat that you love just as much as him(:
Here are some sweet cats..
Long haired siamese.
Calico.
Tabby Cat.
Maine Coon.
American Shorthair.
Birman.
Manx.
Ragdoll.
Abyssinian.
Persian.
Munchkin.
There are plenty of breeds out there! Good luck finding just the right kitty for you!
Love, Ella!
4. Any cat will do, really, but the joy of choosing is that you can get a cat according to your tastes. If you want to get a specific cat, then research about the behaviors and temperaments of various breeds until you find one that you think will suit you ;)
Or you can rescue a stray cat from a shelter, that's a good idea too ;D
5. Why not adopt from a rescue or shelter and save a life? I admire some of the beautiful breeds but I wouldn't trade my pound kitty (aka domestic short hair) for the world :)
6. Not an expert but I do know if you truly love cats, shoot for a Russian Blue. They are very demanding of what they want and need.Be warned they shed a good bit, actually a lot but they are worth it in my opinion. The most loving cat I've ever owned.Another wise thought, they are like dogs, they cling to one person typically. If you're single, hold on for the ride. This cat will most likely drown you with affection and fur.Hope you find your SPOOKY!This cat was given to my wife and I and he is absolutely great.
7. I have a Korat and I love him to death!!! Super smart, acts like a dog (plays fetch all the time) and talks non-stop! He learned several words that I dare not say around him unless I am ready to give in, for example; TREAT, omg, meow meow meow all night till he gets one! BELLY RUB, instantly gets on the floor with his belly in the air ready for a rub, FETCH, ears instantly go up and he is ready to fetch whatever you throw, BAD KITTY, he knows he is in trouble and quickly goes to his bed and pouts. Not a very popular breed, very similar looking to a russian blue but completely different personality.
8. I have found that Orange Tabby Cats seem to have the best personalities. You can probably find one at the local shelter. As for the condition, if you do get another male cat, make sure you feed him some wet food mixed with water once a day and have a source of fresh drinking water for him at all times. Should prevent the urine blockage from occurring.
