Help! putting my cat up for adoption. which websites should i use?

Which websites should i use for people to see my cat without being part of a shelter. I tried pet finder but I think that they only allow shelters to post Kitty's up for adoption. any other websites?

1. FRIDAY ADS

FREEADDS

GUMTREE

2. Personally, I would say do NOT use Craigslist. I tried to rehome some kittens on there, and all I got was either spam or suspicious people who just wanted me to meet them somewhere without any prior knowledge of them and just hand my kittens to them. That happened no matter how I worded my ad, like if I used the word "adoption" or not. Same results everytime. Also, I thought petfinder was for shelter pets or anyones pets but I could be wrong.

3. Craig's List, but REMEMBER you really need to screen potential adopters as well as you can. You don't want to send your kitty to live with horrible pet owners. Try to learn as much as you can about them before rehoming the cat. You also might try to work with your local animal shelter. They will probably require a small surrender fee, but then you can be assured they will find the cat a good home.

4. You might also try Craigslist. I recently had to give up one of my kitties and listed the info and her picture on my Facebook page for all my friends to see. She now lives with one of my highscool friends and I can check on her regularly. You might try going to your favorite search engine and typing in "animal adoption sites" to see what is available as well.

5. Cragslist, The news paper in your area, Adpost.com, Pennysaverusa.com, Domesticsale.com, petclassifieds.us also put some flyers up in your area

6. In my opinion, it is never that great of an idea trying to get rid of pets through the internet. You can try the websites that others have suggested, but I would suggest putting an ad in the local newspaper and putting up posters at the vet's office, grocery store, or post office. Good luck! Remember, the most important thing is that you get your cat to a good home.

7. You can use petfinder.com under their Classifieds. http://www.petfinder.com/classifieds/classifieds.html

"Posts for Adoptable pets are available for people who have taken in a stray and wish to find it a home and for people who wish to place their own pets in new homes. "

8. ask your vet, other vets, your local pet suppliers if you are allowed to place an adoption note on their bulletin board.

Or work together with your local pet shelter.
Ask among trustworthy friens, colleagues, neighbors etc...

If you care for your cat's safety at her new place you should take the most safe way to find a new home, even if it takes longer and is less convenient for your.

Placing an adoption add in your local news paper or a classifieds page may get her into life threatening situations as e.g. snake/alligator snack, bait for fighting dogs, victim for abusive poeple etc.
Those people know very well how to make the current pet owner trust them to get the cheap or even free pet.
