What do cat rescue groups do if they run out of space?
I know some animal shelters euthanize their animals if they need the room and if it's not a no-kill shelter. What about rescue groups for cats? What if they run out of room, then what? I hear they don't euthanize at all.

1. I don't really know but I do know they foster some out to people for a while. I know the no kill shelters around here have like farms and stuff with plenty of room. Sorry I could not answer better.
2. It's very simple. When we - or any other rescue group, and a great many no-kill shelters - run out of space, we just don't take in more cats. No we don't euthanize - but when we turn down cats then they go someplace, and that is generally to an animal control facility that does in fact euthanize. And that is the myth of the no-kill shelter - it simply means that they themselves do not euthanize, not that they accept every cat or dog that comes there way. Until people become responsible and spay and neuter their animals, 'no kill' will never happen.
3. The terminology is different for different people--- a stray or abandoned cat needs a home area. A feral cat has different needs-- a true rescue is, ,realizing the need and addressing it.. not just putting food out. Feral cats can be easily caught and neutered/spayed and released without having to be socialized. They will still come around and eat etc. I took in a bunch of unwanted cats and kittens- fed and housed them-- brought them to the vets got them taken care of and put out flyers to get them to caring homes. In my way of thinking I rescued them-- honestly-- I think rescue groups do whatever they can to help out our little friends.
