My cat is 8 months old & he likes to knock all my pictures off the walls. Why & how do i get him to stop?

I have pictures with frames hanging on my bed room walls and just recently my kitten has starting knocking on them trying to get them off the walls. I don't want to have my walls empty but he keeps me up in middle of the night knocking on the pictures. Why does he do this, and how can i get him to stop. Between him knocking on pictures and my other cat knocking on the bedroom door i just cant sleep!

1. first put a cat door on your door for the other cat they will learn how to use it fast and second i had the same problem with my kitten all i had to do was put the pictures in places she couldn't reach and everytime i caught her doing it to my posters i would say hiss with my lips and clap and that would scare her but she would stop so now she doesn't do it anymore.

2. mm build his a cat house with his own pictures in it, then do the same thing to him to see how he likes it.

3. He will grow out of it!
Kittens are very mischievous!

4. Kittens will be kittens, try using a squirt bottle with water when he approaches the pictures and give him a good squirt. He'll all be like ooh, when i touch the pictures, i get wet and i don't like it! Also get him lots of different toys, and he'll eventually lose interest in the pictures I'd think. And maybe move the pictures to where he can't get at them.

5. Put him to sleep. Then, you can sleep.

6. Either one of two. 1) You have a jealous kitty. Don't worry my cat went through this stage and we still have her. Show her more affection, get pics of him (with you has quicker effects). 2) Just a little trouble maker. Give him other things to do. He is bored. My cat still knocks glasses and pens off the table when shes bored. Catch him in the act and give him something to do like playing with you or a toy.

7. Haha sounds like animal farm -- only instead of pigs it's cats leading the revolt.

Why: Cats are curious critters. They are like babies. They learn by doing. Cause and effect fascinates them: Ball of yarn, boring for us because we understand how to manage it; but cats can't get enough.

Solutions: Lock them up in the bathroom? Put the pictures higher? Hang them on the wall more securely? Give them toys so they don't play with yours? Take sleeping pills?
