Why is my rescue cat losing fur and has diarrhoea?

I adopted a rescue cat 3 days ago and she has been gradually losing all the fur under her neck (she is now quite bald!) She has also had some diarrhoea for the past 24hours. Should I be worried?
I forgot to mention that the bald area is perfectly normal with no soreness etc
and she is eating and drinking fine

1. yes! call your vet.. cats can get dehydrated really fast! not good! esp if she is losing hair... CALL NOW!
good luck!

2. Uh yes!!!! Can you take him/her to the vet....That might be a sign of worms....get it checked out asap..

3. maybe, if she came from a home where she was abused, she is just a little scared. keep an eye on her, give her attention and if it keeps happening, go to the vet. our first adoptive kitty was like that for a few days and we just thought it was normal. well, she got so sick that vet asked us to put her down. luckily, she is okay now. the point is, yes, i think you should check that out.

4. Go to the vet as it sounds like ringworm. If it is ringworm it is HIGHLY contagious and you, family members, and pets could get it. It is treatable so don't freak out. :) Good luck!

5. There could be many reasons for her problems, best to have your vet check her out.

good luck and thanks for rescuing!

6. she is dehyrdrated and could possibly have a disease.
go to the vet and have him/her take a look.

7. Yes, you should be worried. Take your cat to the vet ASAP. You need to do a blood test and test the cat's stool (your cat's number 2). The stool would be tested for parasites. The blood test would test to see how things are going internally. Your cat would need to have a full check up to make sure that it doesn't have thyroid problems, fleas or mites, ringworms, hookworms, feline leukemia, or feline aids.

8. I don't mean to be harsh (forgive me if I do). But, if you or anyone else has a health question, posting it here is really not the right way to handle it. Your vet is the health professional.

Call your vet, tell whoever answers what is happening and they will be able to tell you if your cat should be seen. The diarrhea is not a good sign, however, and can signal a problem.

9. I am sorry if this sounds rude but I get very fed up with people who have cats and don't understand them. OF COURSE you need to be worried, does that SEEM like typical healthy behavior? NO! Take the cat to the vet ASAP.
